Common Email Issues

For the majority of you that use Macintosh Mail. This is accessed via the Eagle/Postage Stamp icon on the dock. You can change the order of emails shown in your in box by clicking on the top row of the inbox. For example, you can sort by From, Subject, or Date Received. Normally, people sort by Date Received. You can also use the Search window in the upper left corner of the inbox window to search by entire message, subject , from, to, etc. This is very handy when you are looking for an email. I get a lot of reports that "my email does not look right" and the reason is that people have clicked on the top, header row by accident. You can also customize which columns are show in the header row by going to View -> Columns.

Another occasional email problem occurs if your network connection goes down temporarly. You will see a tilde type character next to the name of your mail account on the left side of the inbox. If that happens, click on Mailbox -> Take All Accounts Online. If that does not fix the problem, let me know.
